Cairo: Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, yesterday, discussed mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, during a phone call with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, the Egyptian presidency said, in a statement.

According to Nam News Network, the two leaders stressed the importance of ensuring the delivery of adequate and appropriate humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. They also emphasised the necessity of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
