New york: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's categorical rejection and full condemnation of any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians under any pretext or designation. He emphasized that Egypt will not be a partner in such injustice or a gateway for displacement, stating firmly, "Egypt will never be a party to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. This is a red line that cannot be crossed."
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty delivered these remarks at the coordination meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He warned of the unprecedented threats faced by the Palestinian people due to Israeli policies aimed at imposing unilateral realities on the ground. Abdelatty stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Israel's withdrawal, and the provision of international support to enable the legitimate Palestinian Authority to return to Gaza and facilitate humanitarian aid, paving the way for the Arab-Islamic reconstruction and recovery plan.
Abdelatty also referenced a recent meeting in Cairo between the Iranian Foreign Minister and the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that resulted in an agreement on technical cooperation, laying the groundwork for a resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue. He urged OIC member states to support this outcome and restore regional security and stability.
On Syria, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's support for the country's security and stability, condemning Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty. He emphasized the need for Israel to withdraw from the occupied Golan Heights and all remaining occupied Syrian territories, as well as areas in southern Lebanon.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's support for Sudan, stressing the importance of preserving national institutions to achieve a ceasefire and end the humanitarian crisis. Regarding Libya, he emphasized advancing the political process to ensure Libyan ownership of the solution, leading to elections and the withdrawal of foreign forces.
On Yemen, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's support for the country's unity and the internationally recognized government, noting that Yemen's stability is crucial for regional security. He also highlighted the economic and developmental challenges facing OIC member states and the rising campaigns of Islamophobia, calling for stronger roles by religious and media institutions to defend Islam's true image.
