Egypt Implements Strategic Initiatives to Enhance Tourism Sector

Cairo: President of the Tourism Syndicate in Egypt, Bassem Halaka, announced that Egypt is taking significant steps to bolster the tourism sector, a crucial element of the nation's economic growth.

According to State Information Service Egypt, several initiatives are underway to achieve this goal, including the "We Are Egypt" promotional campaign, which aims to raise tourism awareness among Egyptian citizens. Halaka shared these insights during televised statements on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, emphasizing the Egyptian government's commitment to the tourism sector as a vital source of foreign currency income.

Halaka highlighted recent developments within the tourism sector, such as enhancements to infrastructure, roads, and travel security, as well as the urban development of cities. These initiatives are designed to increase investment opportunities within the tourism industry.

He further stressed the importance of public awareness regarding the significance of tourism. The "We Are Egypt" campaign seeks to actively involve Egyptian citizens, educating them on the economic benefits of tourism and the importance of positively engaging with tourists.
