Brussels: Nineteen months after the launch of the EU-Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, a high-level meeting between Egypt and the European Union will take place at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday. The event is titled "Implementing the EU-Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership: Accelerating Strategic Investment and Transition towards Industrialization and Innovation."
According to State Information Service Egypt, this summit marks the first to be held between the European Union and Egypt at the leaders' level. The EU considers it a pivotal opportunity to translate the ambitions of both sides into tangible results across the six pillars of the partnership. The summit follows several preceding meetings, including the 2024 Investment Conference, the launch of the EU-Egypt Investment Platform in 2025, and a financial assistance package worth 5 billion euros.
With the participation of political leaders, senior business representatives from the EU and Egypt, financial institutions, and industry leaders, this meeting will contribute to providing a vision, activating, and advancing the Egyptian-European partnership. The goal is to increase innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness to lead the future of relations between the European Union and Egypt.
The event will give top priority to strategic sectors, particularly technological and clean value chains, and fostering innovation in ecosystems. The dialogue will also provide an opportunity to strengthen public-private partnership and promote the necessary reforms to attract long-term capital and investments and support competitiveness.
