Egypt Condemns Israeli Ground Operation in Gaza as Dangerous Escalation

Cairo: Egypt has strongly condemned Israel's recent military operation in Gaza City, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian foreign ministry issued a statement criticizing the operation, asserting that it reflects Israel's continued pursuit of a reckless policy. The statement emphasized that this approach risks severe consequences for the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the broader region.

Egypt warned of the catastrophic risks posed by the Israeli military campaign, highlighting that the region teeters on the brink of total chaos. The statement accused Israel of blatant arrogance and recklessness, predicting that such actions would inevitably harm the interests of all regional and international parties.

Cairo has held the international community accountable for the severe deterioration of the situation, citing a failure to respond to crimes and acts of genocide. The statement called for respect for human rights and the rule of law, urging immediate measures to end the conflict in Gaza and save Palestinian lives.

The Egyptian foreign ministry noted that the Israeli military efforts have resulted in nearly 65,000 Palestinian deaths and hundreds of thousands of injuries since the conflict began. The statement also highlighted the extensive destruction of Gaza's infrastructure.

Furthermore, Egypt underscored the dire humanitarian consequences resulting from the Israeli operation, particularly amidst the ongoing blockade and famine conditions in Gaza. It condemned the displacement and abuse of the Palestinian population in the enclave.
