Cairo: Egypt will launch the trial operation of the Egyptian Agricultural Museum starting next Saturday, stated the Ministry of Agriculture in a statement on Sunday, August 10th, 2025.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the museum is the second most important place specialized in agriculture in the world. The museum's trial opening will begin on August 16, 2025, and will run for two weeks, stated Major General Amjad Saada, assistant minister of agriculture and general supervisor of the museum, in the statement. It will be open to the public for free daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the trial operation, he added.
The trial operation of the museum is part of the ministry's comprehensive plan to develop its cultural facilities and paves the way for the museum's official opening. The museum is now being renovated, in cooperation with the UNESCO and other international organizations, the statement added.
Established in 1930, the museum houses rare historical exhibits, such as ancient agricultural tools, historical documents, and archaeological plant specimens, in addition to specialized exhibition halls that illustrate the development of Egyptian agriculture throughout the ages.
The museum has eight small museums, including the Greek and Roman Museum, the Chinese Friendship Museum, the Scientific and Royal Collections Museum, as well as the Royal Cinema and the Heritage Library. It also has the Cotton Museum, which was established in 1996.
