Egypt and Pakistan Engage in Talks to Strengthen Military Relations

Cairo: Egypt's Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Abdel Mageed Saqr, held a meeting with General Asim Munir, Chief of Pakistan's Army Staff, and the visiting delegation from Pakistan. The discussions centered on enhancing military cooperation between the Egyptian and Pakistani armed forces, focusing on shared interests and the alignment of views on supporting international peace and security.

According to State Information Service Egypt, General Saqr expressed pride in the robust ties between the armed forces of the two nations and highlighted the importance of bolstering efforts to maintain security and stability amid evolving global and regional dynamics. General Munir reciprocated by emphasizing Pakistan's commitment to advancing military collaboration with Egypt and commended Egypt's significant role in fostering peace in the Middle East.

The visit also included a meeting between Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and the Pakistani military commander. An official reception ceremony was held at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, featuring the national anthems of both countries. Discussions during this meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and the exchange of expertise in various military domains.

Lieutenant General Khalifa stressed the necessity of coordinating efforts to support military cooperation and shared experiences between the two countries. The Pakistani military official reiterated his dedication to strengthening military cooperation with Egypt and expressed appreciation for the notable military relations between their armed forces.

The meetings were attended by several commanders from both the Egyptian and Pakistani armed forces.
