Egypt and Libya Military Chiefs Discuss Security Cooperation in Cairo

Cairo: The Chief of Staff of Egypt's Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, met with Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar, Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan National Army, in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance military and security cooperation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Defense headquarters, where Haftar and his delegation were received with an official ceremony that included the playing of both countries' national anthems. The discussions centered on strengthening coordination and joint efforts to tackle shared security challenges.

During the meeting, Khalifa highlighted the historic ties between Egypt and Libya, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination to ensure security and stability across Libyan territory. Meanwhile, Haftar expressed gratitude for Egypt's long-standing support for the Libyan people and conveyed hopes for expanding cooperation between the two militaries in the future.

Senior commanders from both armed forces attended the meeting, underscoring the significance of the dialogue in fortifying military relations between the two nations.
