Egypt and African Space Agency Discuss Future Collaboration as Cairo Hosts Headquarters

Cairo: Assistant Foreign Minister and Director of the Department of African Organizations and Groupings Mohamed Gad visited the headquarters of the African Space Agency (AfSA) in Cairo, where he met with Dr. Tidiane Ouattara, President of AfSA's African Space Council. The visit aimed to explore ways to support the agency, which is headquartered in Egypt, to enhance Egypt's role on the continent and its commitment to advancing sustainable development goals in line with Africa's Agenda 2063.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting included expressions of gratitude from the African official, who thanked Egypt for its ongoing support in facilitating the mission of the African Space Agency. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation to reinforce the agency's objectives and Egypt's contributions to Africa's space initiatives.Additionally, the assistant foreign minister visited the Egyptian Space Agency, where he engaged with its CEO, Dr. Mohamed El-Qousy. During this visit, Dr. El-Qou sy provided updates on the handover of the African Space Agency's permanent headquarters and discussed potential avenues for coordination and cooperation to ensure a smooth transfer process.
