Doha Summit Signals Unified Arab-Islamic Stance Against Israeli Aggression

Doha: Syrian researchers and academics emphasized that the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha on Monday marks a significant step in re-defining the unified Arab and Islamic stance against Israeli aggression, particularly following the attack on a Hamas residence in Doha. The summit aims to counter Israeli policies, bolster support for the Palestinian people, and highlight Qatar's crucial mediating role since the war's onset.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Dr. Khaled Zaarour, Dean of the Faculty of Media at Damascus University, remarked that the summit's timing and content are crucial, as it convened immediately after the Israeli attack, indicating the urgency and importance of the discussions. The consensus to reject and condemn the aggression reflects a pivotal turning point in the ongoing Israeli attacks, as it targeted a nation known for its mediation efforts.

In agreement, political researcher Omar Idlebi from the Harmoon Center for Studies stated that the summit highlights a rare unity among Arab and Islamic nations, showing solidarity with Qatar. This unity is crucial in pushing the international community towards serious efforts to revive the two-state solution and uphold the Palestinian right to an independent state. Idlebi also noted the significant influence of economic leverage in shaping international approaches to regional issues and pressuring Israel to cease its aggressive policies.

Khaled Khalil, an expert on Israeli affairs, highlighted the unprecedented nature of the Israeli attack on Qatari soil, emphasizing the urgent need for a firm political and diplomatic response to deter future aggressions. Khalil urged for alliances with the European Union and Western countries to politically and economically isolate Israel, especially in light of the growing international criticism of its actions in Gaza.

Experts concluded that the Doha summit is a milestone in unifying Arab and Islamic positions, transforming solidarity into actionable steps to support the Palestinian people and halt Israeli aggression. Analysts noted that the attack on a Qatari compound has strengthened Qatar's regional and international role, positioning the summit as a platform for coordinated responses and pressure against Israel, ensuring the protection of Palestinian rights and adherence to international law.
