Cairo: Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa sent a cable Thursday congratulating Saddam Haftar on his appointment as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army wishing him success in his new role to serve the interests of Libyan people and preserve the country's security and stability.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in his cable, the Chief of Staff voiced Egyptian Armed Forces' appreciation of strong bonds with the Libyan National Army and its keenness on promoting joint coordination across the various military fields, in a way that would help enhance the region's security and stability in the face of threats to both nations, according to a statement released by Armed Forces Spokesman Gharib Abdel Hafez on his official page on social media.
