UNGA adopts Egypt’s ‘Terrorism and Human Rights’ resolution

The United Nations General Assembly’s Third Committee adopted on Friday by consensus the resolution “Terrorism and Human Rights” presented by Egypt and Mexico.

In a press release, Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations in New York Osama Abdel Khalek said the resolution addresses the negative effects of terrorism on human rights and renews commitment to international cooperation to counter it and protect human rights in this context.

He added that adopting the resolution reflects Egypt’s capability to build consensus among the UN member states as well as the international community’s confidence in Egyptian stances.
