Jerusalem – Together – Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that its fighters shot down an Israeli Quadcopter plane and took control of a Skylark drone in Gaza.

The Al-Quds Brigades added that its fighters “killed” a soldier who was holed up in a house in the Sheikh Ajlin area, southwest of Gaza City.

Fahmi Al-Zaarir said that the prisoner Daqqa, one of the leaders and fighters of the Palestinian national movement, one of the national thinkers and its pioneers, died as a martyr on the path of struggle and national steadfastness, after suffering for a long time with cancer and the occupation’s refusal to provide him with the necessary treatment, thus joining the list of martyrs of execution and medical negligence. London: Britons Sunday took to the streets in several cities and regions of the UK on Sunday in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza and to denounce the Israeli war against the enclave.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign in London said local demonstrations took place in several areas across the UK, including in London, Liverpool and Reading.

The protesters demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Israel being brought to international justice for its crimes against the Palestinians and the suspension of British arms sales to Israel.

Jerusalem – Ma’an – The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Commission announced on Sunday evening the death of prisoner Walid Daqqa inside the Israeli Assaf Harofeh Hospital due to the deterioration of his health condition.

The health condition of prisoner Walid Daqqa has deteriorated since March of last year, that is, three months before his previous release date, as a result of his suffering from severe pneumonia and acute kidney failure, in addition to being diagnosed with myelofibrosis cancer on December 18, 2022. It is a rare cancer of the bone marrow, which developed from leukemia that was diagnosed about ten years ago and left without serious treatment.

In April of last year, prisoner Daqqa underwent surgery in which part of his right lung was removed, then he was transferred to the Ramla Prison Clinic. On May 22, he suffered further deterioration and was transferred to Assaf Harofeh Hospital, due to his suffering. One of the complications of the removal process, due to very severe respiratory suffocation a
nd infection, and after his transfer to the hospital, he underwent a catheterization procedure, due to noticeable heart failure. Three days later, the prison authority returned the prisoner Daqqa to the ‘Ramla Prison Clinic’, which caused him a new deterioration, and he was transferred Again to Assaf Harofeh Hospital, then returned to Ramla.

Prisoner Daqqa was subjected to a number of abusive policies against the backdrop of his knowledge productions in particular. The occupation prison administration sought to seize his writings and private books. He also faced solitary confinement and arbitrary transfer.

The prisoner, Daqqa, was arrested on March 25, 1986, along with a group of his companions: Ibrahim Abu Mukh, Rushdi Abu Mukh, and Ibrahim Bayadsa.

It is noteworthy that the occupation issued a life sentence against him, which was later set at 37 years. In 2018, the occupation added two years to his sentence, making it 39 years.

It is noteworthy that Daqqa is one of the 24 former prisoners detained befor
e the signing of the Oslo Accords. He was arrested on March 25, 1986. He was married in 1999 to his wife, Sanaa Salama, and in February 2020, he and his wife had their daughter, ‘Milad,’ via the liberated sperm.

During his long career in detention, he produced many books, studies, and articles, and contributed cognitively to understanding the prison experience and its resistance. Among the most prominent publications issued by the prisoner, Daqqa: ‘Parallel Time,’ ‘The Diaries of Resistance in Jenin Camp,’ ‘The Fusion of Consciousness,’ and ‘The Story of the Secret of Oil.’ .

Amman: The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) dealt with nine drug-related cases, including thwarting two smuggling attempts of 600,000 narcotic pills and 210,000 narcotic pills.

According to a statement, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) media office reported that during the past few days, AND officers cracked down on 19 drug dealers, pushers and smugglers in 9 different cases, arresting all 19.

London – Together – Amnesty International renewed the call to open additional routes to facilitate the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.

Amnesty International said in a statement on Sunday evening: ‘As the war on Gaza enters its sixth month, we continue to call for the opening of additional routes to facilitate the delivery of aid to it.’

Commenting on the occupation authorities’ agreement to temporarily allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, Amnesty International said: ‘It is absolutely necessary, but it is not sufficient.’
