Transport min. inspects 1st line of electric rail project

Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir inspected on Friday the first line of the high-speed electric rail project (Ain Sokhna – El Alamein – Matrouh – Fayoum).

Wazir inspected the work-in-progress of the distance between Alexandria station to Fuka station.

The minister directed to carry out of civil and construction works by major Egyptian companies specialized in these fields in addition to coordinating with all bodies concerned and governorates by which the train will pass.

The fast electric train project has a length of 660 km and includes 22 stations. Its design speed is 250 km/hour. It will contribute to linking the New Administrative Capital and the new cities with the railway network to transport passengers and goods through a fast, modern and safe means of transportation.
