Warsaw: A promotional trade mission aimed at enhancing Egyptian garment exports to Poland was organized by the Ready-Made Garments Export Council in collaboration with the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) in Warsaw. The event, held on October 13 and 14, included participation from approximately 12 leading Egyptian manufacturers and exporters of ready-made garments.According to State Information Service Egypt, the mission facilitated bilateral meetings between these Egyptian companies and about 40 major Polish importers and retail chains specializing in ready-made garments. These interactions took place over two days at one of the leading hotels in Warsaw, marking a significant step in strengthening trade ties between the two nations.The event was officially opened by Ambassador Ahmed El-Ansari, Egypt's Ambassador to Poland. Ambassador El-Ansari reiterated the commitment of the embassy and ECS to support Egyptian companies in bolstering their presence in the Polish market and expanding exports from Egypt.Efforts to ensure the success of the mission were extensive. The ECS in Warsaw engaged with Polish chambers of commerce, major business associations, and coordinated with leading retail chains, importers, and wholesalers to garner a strong Polish turnout. This strategic engagement is expected to yield substantial outcomes in terms of trade cooperation.A significant follow-up to the mission is an upcoming visit by a delegation of top Polish importers and apparel chains to Egypt next month. They will participate in 'Destination Africa', an exhibition organized by the Ready-Made Garments Export Council, which aims to explore further avenues for cooperation and boost Egyptian exports to Poland.Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, First Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service, highlighted that Egypt's exports of ready-made garments to Poland surged by 60% in 2024, reaching around $95 million compared to $60 million in 2023. Key export item s included suits, men's shirts, and T-shirts.Poland is a pivotal market, being one of Europe's largest importers of ready-made garments and a regional hub for Central and Eastern European markets, with garment imports totaling approximately $16 billion in 2024.
