Cairo: Egypt’s new Ambassador to Ghana, Wael Fathy, presented his credentials to Ghanaian President John Mahama at the presidential palace in Accra on Friday, 19th September 2025. The presentation of credentials marked a significant step in strengthening the diplomatic ties between Egypt and Ghana.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on the growing bilateral relations between the two nations. Ambassador Fathy emphasized Egypt’s commitment to sharing its development expertise with African countries, particularly Ghana, with which Egypt shares long-standing historical connections. The Foreign Ministry’s statement highlighted Egypt’s eagerness to collaborate closely with African nations to foster mutual growth and development.
President Mahama expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, recalling his discussions with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in July during the African Union meetings. He conveyed his enthusiasm for enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Ghana, aiming to strengthen the bonds between their peoples. Additionally, Mahama appreciated Egypt’s stance on various regional and international issues, acknowledging the positive role Egypt plays on the global stage.
