Sisi to Attend GEM Opening with 79 Official Delegations Saturday

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will attend the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on Saturday evening, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy announced in a statement. This event will host 79 official delegations, including 39 led by kings, princes, and heads of state and government, showcasing the international community's interest in Egyptian civilization and the cultural role of Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, royal families from Belgium, Spain, Denmark, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Luxembourg, Monaco, Japan, and Thailand are expected to participate. Presidents from countries such as Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Portugal, Armenia, Germany, and others will also attend. Prime ministers from Greece, Hungary, Belgium, and additional nations will be present, along with ministerial and parliamentary representatives from a wide range of countries.

The event will also include representatives from regional and international organizations. These include the Secretary-General of the Arab League, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission. Other notable attendees are the Speaker of the Arab Parliament and the President of JICA, along with leaders of major international companies.

The opening of the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization demonstrates global interest in Egypt's cultural vision. This event underscores Egypt's role as a cultural bridge among peace-loving peoples worldwide.
