Sisi Directs to Lure Investments in Civil Aviation

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, and Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Ahmed el-Shazly. Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy stated that the President was briefed on the progress of the 'Terminal 4' project at Cairo International Airport, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing service quality and strengthening the airport's infrastructure.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister of Civil Aviation reported that the new terminal's capacity will not be less than 30 million passengers, increasing the total capacity of the airport to over 60 million passengers annually. The project will implement cutting-edge, smart technologies, positioning it as one of the most advanced passenger terminals globally, and offering an integrated travel experience.

Shennawy added that the President emphasized the importance of developing the project on an advanced operational system, incorporating the latest in air navigation, ground operations, and facility management. He highlighted the integration of technological innovations based on research and development to ensure a smart and sustainable environment that meets global standards.

The spokesman explained that the President also reviewed the state's efforts to enhance the civil aviation sector's efficiency, including airport upgrades to reach a capacity of 72.2 million passengers by the end of 2025. This aligns with Egypt's goal of attracting 30 million tourists annually.

In this context, the President directed efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships to attract foreign direct investments in the civil aviation sector, including establishing integrated investment zones around Egyptian airports. He stressed the importance of adhering to environmental standards in all sector-related activities, in line with the state's vision of a green economy and sustainable aviation system.

Furthermore, the President emphasized the necessity of addressing service quality complaints at airports promptly to enhance the travel experience and build passenger trust.
