Public business sector min. follows up green ammonia production project

Minister of Public Business Sector Mahmoud Esmat reviewed the developments of the green ammonia production project at El Nasr Fertilizers Company in Suez.

This came during the minister’s meeting with Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries Emad El-Din Mostafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Benchmark Power International Ahmed Bahgat and Executive Managing Director of El-Nasr Fertilizers Company Hamdy Gaber.

Esmat confirmed the ministry’s interest in developing its affiliated fertilizer companies through the establishment of the “Kima 2” plant in Aswan with investments of about EGP 11.6 billion and the development of the Delta Fertilizers Company in Talkha and Al Nasr Fertilizers Company in Suez.

The minister also stressed the ministry’s keenness to enhance its investments in the green economy, as green ammonia represents the future of the fertilizer industry in Egypt and to enhance exports to foreign markets, due to its dependence on clean energy sources, including wind and solar energy.
