President El-Sisi Praises Strengthening Egypt-Pakistan Relations

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Pakistan's Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The meeting, which was also attended by General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Egypt's Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Pakistani Ambassador to Egypt Aamir Shouket, focused on enhancing bilateral ties between the two nations.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Lt. Gen. Mirza conveyed greetings from the Pakistani premier to President Sisi, highlighting the ongoing development in relations between Egypt and Pakistan. Discussions during the meeting centered on promoting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of military and security, as well as exchanging expertise in combating terrorism and extremism.

The meeting addressed recent developments in the Middle East, with an emphasis on Egypt's efforts to mediate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The participants stressed the importance of the international community taking responsibility to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians in the enclave and ensuring the delivery of necessary aid.

Additionally, the discussions reaffirmed the importance of encouraging more countries to recognize an independent Palestinian state as a means to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region. The meeting also covered developments in South Asia and efforts to bolster regional stability.
