Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that Sphinx International Airport is considered one of Egypt's modern air gateways and serves as a strategic portal connecting the west of Cairo to key tourist and archaeological sites. He highlighted the airport's growing significance with the upcoming opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), a major cultural project expected to attract millions of visitors from around the world. He emphasized that the airport's unique location-near the Pyramids and GEM-makes it a central hub for receiving official delegations and tourists, enhancing its role as a main aerial gateway supporting tourism and travel in Egypt.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister's statements came while inspecting the ongoing development works at Sphinx International Airport, as part of the government's on-the-ground follow-up of preparations to welcome guests attending the inauguration ceremony of the museum. During the tour, the premier inspected the international and domestic arrival and departure halls. Madbouli confirmed that the highest standards of comfort and distinguished services are in place, reflecting Egypt's cultural prestige for guests from around the world. He also reviewed various airport facilities to ensure their efficiency in serving visitors.The Prime Minister stressed the importance of ongoing maintenance of the airport's facilities and service areas. He emphasized the need for proper reception of all guests and visitors, ensuring all necessary facilitation for their travel procedures and continued maintenance across all facilities.
