PM probes efforts to increase reclaimed lands

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has stressed the importance of following up efforts of expanding land reclamation in desert areas across the republic in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this respect to meet the needs of the citizens.

The prime minister’s statements came during a meeting Sunday to follow up on land reclamation efforts in the presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Sayed el Quseir, in addition to head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority major general Ahmed El Azazy.

Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said the meeting tackled efforts exerted by various state authorities to study soil, provide irrigation water and choose the best crops in line with agricultutral research.

The prime minister also shed light on the importance of providing infrastracture including roads, communications and electricity to attract more investors to that vital sector.+
