Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Monday, October 13, 2025, to monitor efforts to implement measures related to emission reduction and sustainable green transformation. The meeting was attended by key figures including Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Mahmoud Issmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and several other prominent officials from relevant authorities.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister emphasized Egypt's significant accomplishments in the green transformation sector, highlighting its importance in line with international trends for sustainable development. He reiterated the necessity of enhancing green transformation across all economic sectors, particularly the industrial sector, to align with international environmental standards and boost the global competitiveness of Egyptian exports.
Official spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, Counselor Mohamed Al-Homsani, revealed that the meeting reviewed the ongoing efforts and measures related to emission reduction. These measures focus on reducing emissions and the carbon footprint of various economic sectors through cooperation and coordination among different authorities.
The spokesman further explained that these initiatives include establishing criteria for selecting exporting companies and factories eligible for financial support aimed at green transformation. Additionally, there are plans for field visits to assess the readiness of production lines, as well as technical evaluations to implement carbon reduction technologies effectively.
Efforts are also being made to provide technical support to industrial companies to calculate their carbon footprint, raise environmental awareness, and direct investments towards sustainable practices. The government is working to attract green financing sources and offer incentives for green manufacturing to support these initiatives.
Counselor Mohamed Al-Homsani highlighted the meeting's focus on sustainable green transformation through decarbonization, improving energy efficiency, and adopting clean production technologies. The government aims to assist industrial companies in entering new export markets and enhancing their competitiveness globally.
He added that the government's efforts prioritize aligning with global green economy transitions by improving energy efficiency in the industrial sector and promoting the use of renewable energy sources through various incentive measures, ensuring a sustainable path for green transformation.
