PM Follows Up on Progress of 1.5 Million Feddan Reclamation Project

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli convened a meeting with Amr Abdel Wahab, Chairman of the Egyptian Countryside Development Company, to assess the progress of the nationwide project aimed at reclaiming 1.5 million feddans.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the prime minister emphasized the project's crucial role in forming new urban communities driven by agriculture. Abdel Wahab provided an update on various aspects of the project, including construction, utility setup, road development, well drilling, and the establishment of water desalination plants and electricity networks.

Abdel Wahab reported that 440,000 feddans have been cultivated and reclaimed, with 875,000 feddans handed over to beneficiaries. He also mentioned ongoing purchase and legalization procedures for an additional 192,000 feddans. Over 4,500 companies are participating in different sites of this extensive national project.
