Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that Egypt is prioritizing its National Strategy for Integrated and Sustainable Energy, with the goal of increasing the share of renewable energy to over 42% by 2030 and more than 60% by 2040. During a recent meeting with Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mahmoud Esmat and representatives from private firms Hassan Allam and Infinity Power, Madbouly emphasized the importance of investing in clean energy to promote sustainable development and decrease dependence on fossil fuels.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Esmat highlighted the ongoing efforts of his ministry to update the national energy roadmap. The updates aim to expand the country's renewable energy capacity, improve energy efficiency, and bolster local industries through collaboration with the private sector and the adoption of advanced technologies.

Esmat also detailed the progress on various solar, wind, and energy storage projects. He discussed plans to enhance the national power grid and construct new substations, such as the one planned for East El Oweinat. This infrastructure development is intended to support agricultural and industrial growth in the New Valley Governorate.
