Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli met with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to follow up on several files related to the ministry's work. During the meeting, Badawi reviewed efforts to ensure the availability and supply of petroleum products and ways to enhance the sustainability of their supply to meet the needs and demands of various development and consumer sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Badawi discussed plans to expand exploration and drilling activities, as well as efforts to attract more international companies to invest in this promising sector, in light of the opportunities and resources Egypt possesses in the oil and gas fields. He also referred to the recent announcement of the successful drilling of the "North Lotus" exploratory well by Agiba Petroleum Company in the Western Desert, with investments from the Italian company Eni.
Badawi highlighted that this success is expected to open the door for further expansion of exploration activities in the Western Desert and attract more investment to this promising area.
