Giza: The government aims to revive Nazlet al-Samman in Giza as a key tourist destination integrated with the Pyramids area, in tandem with the forthcoming inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli said on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli underscored the importance of preserving the area's unique archaeological and cultural heritage while expanding tourism services and ensuring sustainable revenues. He highlighted the need for strong community participation, affirming that residents will be direct beneficiaries of the redevelopment plans.
During a meeting he held with officials and consultants, he outlined a vision to transform Nazlet al-Samman by 2030 into an integral part of the Pyramids experience, combining housing, work, and tourism functions. The master plan focuses on improving infrastructure, managing waste, upgrading public spaces, and encouraging adaptive reuse of historic buildings for cultural and tourism-related activities.
The project also seeks to expand hotel capacity, enhance visitor services, and create job opportunities, while maintaining a balance between safeguarding heritage sites and enabling urban renewal.
