Cairo: Dr Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation, signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen cooperation in the field of economic development with Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during the summit held by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt with his counterpart, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this memorandum of understanding acknowledges the importance of cooperation in economic development as a driving force to enhance social and economic development in both countries, based on economic development and a mutual commitment to sustainable development from both sides.

In addition, an agreement was reached to work in the fields of policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the exchange of successful policies and practices in the agreed areas. This aligns with the strong cooperative relations between the two countries and reflects both parties' recognition of the importance of knowledge as the cornerstone linking the two nations, and within the framework of economic cooperation among southern countries.
