Tokyo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has urged Japanese travel agencies and tour operators to enhance their tourism programs to Egypt. This call to action aims to leverage recent advancements in Egypt's tourism sector and infrastructure, alongside the increase in direct flights between Cairo and Tokyo.According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty's remarks were made during a meeting held with Hiroyuki Takahashi, chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and representatives of major Japanese tourism companies. The meeting, which was part of Abdelatty's visit to Japan, focused on strategies to increase Japanese visitors to Egypt and bolster cooperation in the tourism industry.Abdelatty commended JATA's efforts in promoting Egypt as a travel destination and emphasized the importance of the Japanese market in Egypt's tourism strategy. He also confirmed Egypt's commitment to participating in the 2026 Japan Tourism Fair to further showcase its tourism offerings.Abdelatty underscored the enthusiasm surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum's opening, highlighting it as a significant cultural landmark and a testament to successful Egyptian-Japanese collaboration.
