Cairo: The Ministry of Interior has successfully thwarted a terror plot planned by the "Hasm" terrorist organization. The national security sector, in coordination with other security bodies, managed to identify the key operatives behind the plot.According to State Information Service Egypt, security bodies had received a tip-off regarding the involvement of leaders of "Hasm," the armed wing of the Muslim Brotherhood movement. These leaders, currently residing in Turkey, were attempting to reactivate the group's operations. The plot involved carrying out terror attacks targeting security and economic facilities.The plan also included deploying a terror element who had previously received advanced military training in a border country to infiltrate Egypt illegally and execute the plot. This plot coincided with the release of a video, widely circulated on social media, showing Hasm members undergoing military-style training in a desert area in a neighboring country, threatening to carry out terrorist attack s on Egyptian soil.
