The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) held its first workshop for turning the Robbiki Leather City into an eco-friendly industrial zone.

This falls within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Cairo for Investment and Real Estate Development (CIRA).

The two-day workshop is attended by a cluster of experts concerned with the issue.

IDA Chairman Mohamed Abdel Karim said the idea of turning Robbiki into eco-friendly zone is meant to establish more efficient zones with regard to using resources.

He added that Robbiki was selected to represent a pioneering experiment in this domain, noting that Robbiki is qualified to be among international industrial cities in light of its great industrial potentials and qualified cadres.

The measure is meant to reduce resources consumption, encourage recycling and realize industrial integration.
