Health Ministry Launches Online Platform for Specialized Hospitals

Cairo: The Ministry of Health and Population has launched a new interactive online platform for the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers and its affiliated hospitals, marking the beginning of the second phase of its national digital transformation in healthcare.

According to State Information Service Egypt, ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that the platform offers access to medical services, hospital information, and telemedicine options, aiming to improve communication between patients and providers. This initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize hospital infrastructure, streamline services, and enhance care delivery.

The initial phase of this transformation included automating systems in Alamein, Agamy, and 15 May hospitals, with ongoing digital upgrades in 50 blood banks and 30 remote clinics. Additionally, radiology services have been digitized in 70% of the affiliated hospitals.

A new remote integration system has also been introduced to connect liver centers with Cairo Fatimid Hospital, facilitating easier follow-ups for transplant patients without the need for travel.

The platform is now accessible at https://smc.gov.eg/home.
