Health Minister and Arab Hospitals Federation Explore Joint Health Sector Support

Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Executive Council of the Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF) to explore avenues for collaboration to bolster the health sector.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Health and Population spokesperson, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, conveyed that the Minister extended a warm welcome to the AHF delegates. He also invited them to participate in the third edition of the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Human Development, which is scheduled to take place from November 10 to 13, 2025.

The meeting, held at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, focused on enhancing cooperation, with a particular emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in the health system. Discussions centered on the application of AI technologies in Ministry of Health hospitals to improve service delivery, expedite diagnostic and treatment procedures, and train health workers in the effective use of AI. This initiative aims to build human resource capabilities, align with global advancements, and equip the workforce with skills in health system sustainability and crisis management.

The AHF delegation extended an invitation to the Minister to attend the Arab Hospitals Federation's annual forum, "MidHealth Riyadh," slated for January 2026 in Riyadh. This event is expected to provide a platform for sharing Egypt's successful experience in comprehensive health coverage and facilitating the exchange of expertise among Arab nations.

Dr. Alice Yammine, the CEO of the Federation, expressed gratitude to the Minister for his contributions to the health sector, acknowledging his unwavering support for the Federation. She also commended Egypt's achievements in implementing a comprehensive health insurance system and initiating presidential public health programs.
