Foreign Affairs Minister Hosts Palestine’s Prime Minister in Alamein

Alamein: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, received the Prime Minister of Palestine, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, to discuss key issues concerning Gaza's reconstruction. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Ashour.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explained that Minister Abdelatty highlighted the importance of gaining international support for the Arab plan focused on Gaza's reconstruction. This plan includes early recovery strategies, infrastructure rebuilding, and restoring essential services. Discussions also covered preparations for the Cairo Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction, following the establishment of a ceasefire.

Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in achieving their rights and establishing an independent state. He reviewed recent developments in Egyptian mediation efforts aimed at facilitating a ceasefire and stressed Egypt's opposition to the displacement of Palestinians. The minister condemned the blockade and settlement policies imposed by Israel and emphasized Egypt's stance against Israeli actions in the occupied territories.

Ambassador Khallaf also noted that the Foreign Minister expressed support for strengthening the Palestinian Authority's role in Gaza and the West Bank. He highlighted the importance of activating the committee responsible for Gaza's temporary administration, aiming for the complete return of the Palestinian Authority. The minister also showed willingness to assist in restoring security in Gaza by training Palestinian police personnel.

Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, outlined Egypt's efforts in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. She mentioned the Egyptian Red Crescent's role in facilitating the entry of aid through the Rafah crossing and the reception of wounded Palestinians in Egyptian hospitals.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, discussed the reconstruction plan's executive strategy, emphasizing the need for effective and sustainable implementation. He addressed infrastructure, social protection, economic development, and governance, ensuring coordinated efforts with Palestinian representatives to finalize the plan.

Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa commended Egypt's leadership in supporting the Palestinian cause and its humanitarian efforts in Gaza. He acknowledged Egypt's role in facilitating aid entry and involvement in recovery and reconstruction initiatives.
