Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty will meet on Tuesday September 9th, 2025, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi. A press conference will be held following the talks.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to support efforts aimed at de-escalation in the region. Abdelatty has recently conducted a series of contacts with Araghchi and Grossi, aiming to set the stage for resuming negotiations between Iran and the IAEA regarding the Iranian nuclear file.

These contacts are primarily focused on bridging the gap between the parties involved to reach a sustainable settlement that considers all interests. This initiative is seen as a contribution towards de-escalation, rebuilding trust, and fostering an environment conducive to achieving regional security and stability.
