Abuja: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty participated on Monday, July 21, 2025, in the Egypt-Nigeria Business Forum, held in the Nigerian capital Abuja. The event was attended by Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar as well as a wide range of representatives from major Egyptian and Nigerian companies, chambers of commerce, and economic institutions from both countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in his opening remarks, the Nigerian foreign minister officially announced his country's support for Egypt's Dr. Khaled El-Anany's candidacy for the position of Director-General of UNESCO, expressing his best wishes for his success in the elections scheduled for next October. He also expressed his eagerness to continue strengthening Egyptian-Nigerian relations in all fields. He highlighted the promising opportunities to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's growing interest in deepening economic and trade ties with Nigeria, describing it as one of Egypt's most important partners on the African continent. He noted that the forum serves as an ideal platform to promote private sector partnerships between the two countries and to explore joint investment opportunities across various sectors. He further discussed promising opportunities available in the Egyptian market and major national projects across the country, stressing Egypt's readiness to provide all necessary support to boost economic cooperation with Nigeria.
