FM: Egypt, Greece Share Common Vision to Promote Regional Security, Stability

Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Badr Abdelatty asserted that Egypt shares a common vision with Greece to enhance security and stability in the region. During a joint press conference with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, Abdelatty expressed happiness that his current visit to Greece coincides with the fifth anniversary of the maritime boundary delimitation agreement between the two friendly countries, signed on August 6, 2020.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty stated that this historic agreement, which defines the exclusive economic zone between Egypt and Greece, reflects the strong political will to achieve desired goals through the principles of consultation, understanding, and the desire to reach consensual solutions that take into account the interests of all parties, fully consistent with the principles of international law, the law of the sea, justice, and equity.

Abdelatty emphasized that Egypt and Greece have shared interests as well as a common vision for regional security and stability and a conscious political will. This political will continuously drives greater cooperation and deepens cooperation between the two friendly countries across various political, economic, commercial, investment, as well as cultural and educational fields.
