Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of the historic Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement, in a way that ensures the fulfillment of the Palestinian people's aspirations and the establishment of their independent state. This came during telephone calls held on Sunday evening between Abdelatty and the Foreign Ministers of France, Jean-Noël Barrot; Greece, Giorgos Gerapetritis; Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud; and Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi. According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions were part of Egypt's intensive diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional and international coordination on Arab issues. The calls reviewed the overall developments in the Palestinian cause and ongoing efforts to advance the truce process. Minister Abdelatty stressed the need to move into the second phase of the Gaza war cessation agreement, initiating early recovery and reconstruction steps. During the discussions, the Foreign Minister also outlined preparations underway for the upcoming International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, which Egypt will host in November. He underlined that the conference represents a pivotal step toward unifying international efforts to support the Palestinian people and contribute to rebuilding what the war destroyed, in accordance with a comprehensive Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction. Separately, the calls also addressed the situation in Sudan, particularly in the city of El Fasher, which has witnessed widespread unrest. The ministers affirmed the need to support regional and international efforts to secure a ceasefire and achieve an inclusive political settlement, in line with the outcomes of the recent Sudan Quartet meeting in Washington, emphasizing the importance of building on those results to coordinate positions and intensif y humanitarian efforts in affected areas.
