FM Affirms Ongoing Improvement of Counselor Services Efficiency

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed that the Foreign Ministry has been exerting effort to improve consular services, making them smoother, faster, and more efficient. Abdelatty was addressing the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, which is currently taking place under the slogan "From Everywhere... Egypt is the Destination."

According to State Information Service Egypt, the event is attended by Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Kamel el Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport, Sherif el Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran.

The foreign minister announced the launch of Egypt's first integrated center to provide consular and civil services, including the issuance of national ID cards, passports, and criminal records, along with dispatching them to Egyptians abroad via express mail.

He emphasized that the enhancement of consular services is one of three core pillars of the Foreign Ministry. The second pillar involves achieving the mutual interests of Egyptians abroad and the state through various initiatives that benefit both parties, Abdelatty added.

Abdelatty underscored his keenness to meet with Egyptian communities during his official visits abroad, highlighting ongoing coordination with EgyptAir regarding ticket pricing for expatriates. He went on to say that remittances of Egyptian expats remain the primary source of national income.
