Finance Minister: ACI system helps apply EU, US standards on imports

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait asserted the Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) system has mainly contributed to implementing presidential directives about applying EU and US standards on imported goods to ensure quality of commodities in local markets.

Several measures were taken to boost governance principle in monitoring customs outlets in cooperation with the authorities concerned, added Maait in a statement issued by the ministry Saturday 24/09/2022.

The system aims to turn Egypt into an advanced global logistic zone that utilizes the cutting-edge technologies, which paves the way for facilitating trade flow and stimulating investments.

It has as well main objectives; including reducing customs clearance time, decreasing the cost of importing and exporting, boosting Egypt’s exports, streamlining the procedures, particularly what regards to production supplies as well as the strategic goods and services.

ACI system, which came into effect as of 1 October 2021, is one of the services that Nafeza provides for importers and exporters. Nafeza covers Egypt’s all imports and exports.
