Finance and Investment Ministers Collaborate to Enhance Egypt’s Export System

Cairo: Ministers of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk and Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib announced on Sunday that they are developing an export system akin to the logistics services centers for imports. This initiative aims to create an integrated export framework that aligns with international standards to streamline procedures for exporters. This development comes as the current fiscal year's budget allocates LE45 billion to bolster export support, a move intended to increase the global competitiveness of Egyptian products.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers revealed in a joint statement that a new project is underway to improve the working environment for export procedures at ports. Part of this initiative includes the introduction of advanced inspection and examination units at export yards. These units are designed to enhance the efficiency of logistics services while being environmentally sustainable and adaptable to future export growth.

Furthermore, the statement highlighted plans to digitally re-engineer export procedures to expedite the documentary cycle and minimize costs. There will be an increased use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline export processes and improve customs operations. The ministers also noted that the "Nafeza" platform plays a significant role in this endeavor, currently covering over 130 customs locations and electronically linking 35 government agencies, which aids in facilitating trade movement.
