Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad and International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashat discussed Friday suggestions for boosting cooperation with development partners as part of the preparations for hosting COP 27, in the presence of officials from the two ministries along with representatives from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The green zone in COP27 is set to be an important platform that would allow the host country engage the NGOs, youth, and private sector in preparations for the event and would give them the chance to present their proposals, innovations, and modern technologies, Fouad said.

It also would give the development partners the opportunity to support the climate change file, including the UNIDO platform, designed to help in mitigation and adaptation with the climate change, she added.

She welcomed the cooperation with UNIDO, the World Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as regards lowering the carbon emissions as well as in the domains of energy transmission.

For her side, el Masaht said the International Cooperation Ministry is working with multilateral development partners to hold talks on technical cooperation and providing funding for green economy transition.
