Rafah: The entry of humanitarian and relief aid trucks into the Gaza Strip resumed on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, following a two-day halt due to the weekly Friday and Saturday holidays. The trucks are currently undergoing inspection by Israeli occupation forces before they proceed to the Palestinian side of the Strip.
According to State Information Service Egypt, a source at the Rafah border terminal in North Sinai reported that the 41st aid convoy, operated by the Egyptian Red Crescent, commenced its movement earlier in the day. The convoy is traveling from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing towards the Karm Abu Salem crossing, en route to the Gaza Strip. The convoy carries large quantities of essential aid, including food supplies, flour, medical and humanitarian materials, and other necessities aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Gaza population.
Israeli occupation forces had previously closed the crossings linking the Gaza Strip since March 2, following the end of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the failure to solidify the ceasefire. The situation escalated with intense airstrikes on March 18, as Israeli forces pushed into various areas of the Gaza Strip from which they had withdrawn earlier.
The occupation authorities also blocked the entry of trucks carrying humanitarian aid, fuel, and shelter supplies for displaced persons who lost their homes due to the conflict. Additionally, they refused to allow the entry of heavy equipment necessary for clearing rubble and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
Aid entry resumed in May under a mechanism implemented by the occupation authorities and an American security company, despite opposition from the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which argued that it violated established international mechanisms. Furthermore, the occupation army announced a "temporary truce" for 10 hours on Sunday, July 27, halting military operations in parts of the Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
