Enany Extends Gratitude to UNESCO Member States for Election as Director-General

Paris: Khaled El-Enany, the newly elected Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Member States that placed their trust in him.

According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Enany expressed his profound pride in his home country, Egypt, which honored him with this nomination. He also acknowledged the support from Arab states, marking his election as the first Arab candidate to assume this significant position. El-Enany emphasized that UNESCO embodies the values of cultural diversity and human dialogue, and he is committed to upholding these principles.

During his inauguration ceremony speech, El-Enany thanked African nations for their united support, highlighting their shared mission of defending knowledge and identity on a global stage. He underscored that this collective message is one that Africa is proud to carry to the world.

El-Enany stated that UNESCO aims to be a hub for human intellect and creativity. He conveyed his dedication to serving as a Director-General who focuses on the organization's motto of serving the people. He reiterated that UNESCO was established for the peoples and must continue to exist for their benefit.
