Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong witnessed the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on local and economic development initiatives. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Ittihadiya Presidential Palace.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the event followed official discussions at the palace, where President Sisi welcomed President Cuong with full state honors, including the playing of national anthems of both nations. Presidential spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy reported that the two leaders engaged in a one-on-one meeting, succeeded by wider talks involving official delegations from both countries.
The discussions prioritized the strengthening of bilateral relationships, focusing on enhancing cooperation in politics, the economy, trade, investment, education, and tourism. The leaders aimed to capitalize on the recent positive developments in Egypt-Vietnam relations.
Upon concluding the discussions, Presidents El-Sisi and Cuong addressed a joint press conference to convey the outcomes of their talks and the significance of the signed MoUs.
