Cairo: Remittances from Egyptians working abroad soared by 40.7 percent year-on-year in June, reaching an unprecedented monthly high of $3.6 billion, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) revealed on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. This remarkable increase contributed to a record $36.5 billion in remittances for the 2024/25 fiscal year, marking a 66.2 percent rise from the previous year's $21.9 billion.According to State Information Service Egypt, the April-June 2025 quarter saw remittances climb by 34.2 percent year-on-year, totaling $10 billion, compared to $7.5 billion during the same quarter in 2024. The CBE highlighted the robust growth in remittance inflows, reflecting the continued financial contributions of the Egyptian diaspora.
