Egypt’s New Ambassador to Ghana Presents Credentials to President


Accra: Egypt’s new Ambassador to Ghana, Wael Fathy, presented his credentials to Ghanaian President John Mahama at the presidential palace in Accra on Friday, September 19, 2025. The presentation marked a significant step in the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on the growing bilateral relations between Egypt and Ghana. Ambassador Fathy emphasized Egypt’s commitment to sharing its development expertise with African nations, including Ghana, highlighting the long-standing historical ties that exist between the two countries.



President John Mahama expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, recalling his encounter with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in July during the African Union meetings. Mahama reiterated his desire to enhance cooperation between the two nations and their peoples, acknowledging the importance of Egypt’s positions on regional and international matters.



The discussions underscored the mutual interest in strengthening ties and collaborating on various fronts, setting the stage for future engagements between Egypt and Ghana.
