Egypt’s Mufti hails religious cooperation with Uzbekistan

Egypt’s Mufti Shawqi Allam has hailed the depth of relations between Egypt and Uzbekistan.

During a meeting on Sunday with an Uzbekistani delegation under Muzaffar Kamilov, the Uzbek president’s advisor and head of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, Allam stressed the importance of the role of the religious institutions in facing extremism.

They discussed cooperation between the two sides and reviewed the role of Egypt’s Dar Al Iftaa in combatting terrorism and extremism and in dealing with social issues such as divorce and family disintegration.

The Uzbek official hailed the achievements made by Dar Al Iftaa in terms of combatting terrorism and extremism and expressed readiness for cooperation with Dar Al Iftaa due to its expertise in fighting extremism.
