Egypt’s medical exports rise to dlrs 632 m in eight months

Egypt’s medical and pharmaceutical exports have upped by 46.3 percent in the period from January to August 2022, registering 632 million dollars against 432 million in the same period last year.

The Export Council of Medical Industries (ECMI), in a statement on Saturday 15/10/2022, said cosmetic exports skyrocketed during the above-mentioned period by 112 percent, recording 410 million dollars against 193 million dollars during the same month last year.

Medical exports hit 69 million dollars from January to August, marking a 11.3 percent rise in comparison with the same period last year.

ECMI Chairman Maged George said the sector’s exports are expected to rise by 20-30 percent annually.
