According to State Information Service Egypt, Gobran stated that the meeting was part of ongoing discussions regarding executive decisions tied to Labour Law No. 14 of 2025. This law was ratified by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi following parliament's approval and extensive social dialogue, and it is set to be enacted on September 1, 2025.
The minister emphasized the urgency of finalizing approximately 87 executive decrees, with 68 expected to be issued by the Ministry of Labour. The remaining decrees will be issued by the Cabinet, the Justice Ministry, and the Health Ministry. Gobran assured the attendees that efforts are being made to ensure all institutions are fully prepared for the law's implementation.
During the meeting, participants discussed decrees related to skill certification, licensing of crafts and professions, and professional development. They highlighted that the new law represents a significant change in the regulation of employer-worker relations, aligning with the state's vision to foster a fair and adaptable legislative environment that encourages investment in Egypt, secures employment, and complies with international labour standards.
